Fall is my most favourite time of year. Crisp weather, cozy sweaters, comfort food – I love pretty much everything about it.
In the past, my fall decor has been more traditional (orange pumpkins, bronze ribbon and hints of gold) but a different plan was hatched after a trip to Michael’s where I found …dunh dunh dunh….soft blue pumpkins.
That got me thinking about other fall colours that make the season so beautiful: light blue autumn skies, rich goldenrod and velvety cattails.
It starts in the foyer with artwork setting the tone. The simple bowl of pumpkins and moss balls keeps the console table free from too much clutter. ( …so it can be cluttered up with our everyday crap instead :))
Since the house is open concept, I wanted the colours to flow without being too matchy matchy (I hate that.)
I kept the gold and blue throughout (to keep it cohesive) but I introduced emerald green in the living room…
….and a pop of royal purple the dining room.
How are you decorating for the season? Any fall colours that have inspired you? Or had a dunh..dunh…dunh Michael’s experience? Share in the comments below, I’d love to hear from you!.
Hope you enjoyed the tour! Happy Fall!
