Making floral ice cubes is a simple way to dress up even the most boring of beverages. They’re incredibly easy to make and in just a few steps, you’ll be wowing guests with a beautiful garnish that serves double duty to keep drinks cold.
A note before starting – since you’ll be drinking (and in some cases, eating) these flowers, it’s important that you use non toxic flowers that haven’t been treated with chemicals.
Here’s a few flowers you can use:
- pansies
- lavender
- violas
- roses
- daisies
How to make floral Ice cubes:
- Select flowers and remove head from stems. Discard stems.
- Gently wash flowers under running water to remove any dirt (or little critters)

- Fill ice cube tray half full of water
- Add flowers in each cube and freeze
- Once frozen, add more water to cover flowers and freeze again
- When solid, your floral ice cubes are ready to use!
