Easy Homemade Apple Crisp

Today I’m sharing an easy recipe for making homemade apple crisp and all you need are 6 ingredients!

Is there anything more comforting than the smell and taste of apple crisp? There’s something about the combination of that sweet, warm, cinnamon flavour with a crunchy topping that we crave around here as the weather turns cold. another one of our faves is this easy pear galette recipe.

Joyful Hostess Tip: For an extra special touch try it with walnut or Speculaas (Dutch spiced cookie) flavoured ice cream. So good!

Ingredients

  • 12 medium-large apples (peeled, cored and cut into 1 inch chunks)
  • 1 cup quick cook oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup of softened butter

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Arrange apples evenly in greased 9 x 12 inch pan.
  3. Mix oats, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon together.
  4. Cut in butter with pastry blender (or using fork).
  5. Sprinkle mixture over the apples.
  6. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes (until apples are soft and top is browned).
  7. Serve warm or cold and enjoy!

Joyful Hostess Tip: Try substituting gingerbread spice for cinnamon to give it a more festive taste! Serve with pumpkin spice coffee.
