One of my favourite memories involves hot buttered rum cider. It was during Christmas holidays and the kids and the rest of the guests had all (finally) gone to bed. My mom, sister and I sat by the fireplace, quietly sipping our hot buttered rums enjoying the warmth and crackle of the fire… and the peaceful silence.
With it’s blend of aromatic spices, creamy butter and sweet brown sugar – this hot buttered rum apple cider recipe is sure to warm you from the inside out.
The buttered rum batter can be made ahead of time. In fact, it tastes better if the flavours have a chance to blend for 24-48hrs in the fridge before using them in the hot apple cider. And then you can have it on hand anytime the mood strikes!
