Simple syrup is a staple for making many cocktails and making it is …well…simple.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
Directions
Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to a pan to a boil until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and cool completely. Once cooled, store in clean container in the fridge for approximately 1 month.

Joyful Hostess Tip – Add flavour to your syrup while boiling (e.g. orange halves, cinnamon, mint leaves or splash of amaretto) and brush on your cakes to keep them moist and add flavour! You can also use this in your cocktails!
